How Do You Want to Live

Michael passed away soon after starting this blog. Michael is my brother. His post on Oct 2004 was his first and only blog post. It is my hope that people will comment on his questions and continue the dialog he started. I hope we learn more about ourselves and others and gives us encouragement to live better lives. Please pass it on to your friends. Thank you.

Live Like That

Live Like That is a great song with a message about how to live your life by Sidewalk Prophets. It's a good way to live our lives, and as the song says, "..give it all I have", and "never holding back". Ask ourselves, "Was I love, When no one else would show up".

Live Like That by Sidewalk Prophets YouTube

Live Like That song lyrics
Sometimes I think
What will people say of me
When I'm only just a memory
When I'm home where my soul belongs

Was I love
When no one else would show up
Was I Jesus to the least of those
Was my worship more than just a song

(Chorus)
I want to live like that
And give it all I have
So that everything I say and do
Points to You
If love is who I am
Then this is where I stand
Recklessly abandoned
Never holding back
I want to live like that
I want to live like that

Am I proof
That You are who you say You are
That grace can really change a heart
Do I live like Your love is true

People pass
And even if they don't know my name
Is there evidence that I've been changed
When they see me, do they see You

Chorus

I want to live like that
I want to live like that

I want to show the world the love You gave for me
(I want to live like that)
I'm longing for the world to know the glory of the King

Chorus

I want to live like that
I want to live like that

The Olympics Shows Hard Work and Perseverance Pays Off

Only a few are great enough to win a gold medal at the Olympics but for those that win it's a great accomplishment. Olympic winners have to put their all into their chosen sport and practice, practice, and train and practice. It takes a lot of hard work and sometimes takes a natural ability to win and be the best. All that participate have made it into a small group that can call themselves Olympic athletes. For those that make it to the games and for those that win gold, silver, or bronze, prove that hard work and determination can pay off in being a success.

Using the Talents You Have

Using the talents you have. Everyone has some kind of talent to do something. Take advantage of your God given abilities to be successful. If you can naturally jump high and dunk a basketball you may very well play basketball to get into college or even play professionally. Everyone would normally say to a great athlete and a tall person that they should try out to play the game. Most of us do not have such an ability that's obvious to all for a particular pursuit but we all have some ability to do something and be successful with it. You may have to discover what your talents are and it may take time. Trial and error may be required. Doing what you like to do often helps develop or discover your talents.

Spring Cleaning

It's spring when people clean what they haven't in a while or since last spring. But spring cleaning can include much more. You can look over your financial situation and get your bills under control. You can also clear out your mind to things. Set goals for yourself, exercise, diet, and make plans to improve your relationships. Spring cleaning can mean so much more than pushing out some dust. The nice spring weather should motivate you to improve your life in many ways.

What Are Your Goals

Do you have goals for your life? Goals for business, education, job related or other personal goals to improve health, family or relationships? These are all worthy of thought. Does having goals help or do you put them off to a later date? You may have better success you if you set your mind to accomplish something and having goals help get you started on the path. The most important thing is to start and goals can be the starting point. What do you have to say?

Let's Continue the Dialog

I will do my part to raise questions and start discussions about "how you want to live both now and in the future and what if any choices you are presently making to influence your present and future life", as Michael proposed.
It is my hope that many people will also comment on his questions and continue the dialog he started. I hope we will learn more about ourselves and others and gives us encouragement to live better lives. Please pass it on to your friends. Thank you, Michael's Brother.

How1 How Do You Want to Live?

How do you want to live? What kind of future life do you envision for yourself? What kind of future life do you envision for your children? Do you welcome a world where we must become "intelligent merchants", working for ourselves using only our minds and technology? Or do you want the safety-net of the past when we worked for one entity for long periods of time? What are your thoughts? I will raise thoughts and pose questions in my posts which seek a dialogue on how you want to live both now and in the future and what if any choices you are presently making to influence your present and future life.
